Astra: Play Games Earn Rewards is an Android-only app that offers the opportunity to get paid to play and test games. Like many other apps Mommy Needs Advice has tested and reviewed, this app has you accumulate coins for the amount of time you spend playing the game. As an added bonus, the app actually has a lot of pretty fun games to choose from.

The question is simple really: Is Astra: Play Games Earn Rewards a legit money-making app? Or, is it too good to be true and nothing more than a scam? You know the drill, we downloaded the app and took it for a test drive so you don’t have to. Keep reading for Mommy Need Advice’s 2024 review on if Astra: Play Games Earn Rewards is legit or a scam.

What Is The App, Anyway?

Astra is pretty similar to PlayWell and Cash Giraffe. I would not liken it to JustPlay or PlayTest Pro. Those two apps give you loyalty coins for every new round, advancement, or level you hit in the game. Astra offers you coins in exchange for time spent playing the game. There’s a difference.

Astra: Play Games Earn Rewards 2024 Review

Unfortunately, our review of Astra will not include a payment proof. It didn’t take me long to decide I really didn’t like this app. I actually didn’t even play anything the first time I opened the app because the way the app is set up is pretty off-putting. I really can’t explain it, you just don’t get very welcoming vibes from it. It is dark and just screams “scam.”

I was pleasantly surprised by some of the games you could download. I found a game I liked pretty quickly. So, I was excited by the idea of getting paid to play a game I enjoy playing. I downloaded the game, spent some time playing it, and eventually I went back to the app.

Unfortunately, the app told me I had not earned any coins playing the game. Furthermore, I only had the 200 coins I got as a “welcome gift” for downloading the app.

Making things worse, the app offered me 120 coins to play the game for a minute. I can assure you I played the game for at least 20 minutes. So, I definitely should have had coins accumulating by this point.

Adding fuel to the fire, you also need 5,000 coins to cash out the smallest PayPal option. Considering I wasn’t able to accumulate any coins beyond the welcome gift, I can’t imagine this app actually pays anyone.

Reviews: What Others Have Said

Despite having over 100K downloads and a decent star rating, most people who took the time to leave a review did not have nice things to say about the app. Many users claim they got locked out of their accounts before they could earn enough to cash out. Others shared similar experiences to my own and never actually got their coins.

The developer does seem to respond to all the negative reviews, offering to help resolve the issue but no one ever seems to go back and change their review to reflect a more positive outcome. So, it seems their ‘customer service’ might not be following through.

I also find it a little strange that the app is rated “mature” in the Play Store. It was also the first time I played one of these apps where it, made me confirm I was over 18. Again, like I said, this app j doesn’t give good vibes and felt like a scam from the start.

Mommy Needs Advice does not recommend Astra: Play Games Earn Rewards. We are tossing this app in our scam pile and recommending you stay away from it.
