Marry My Husband is the name of a K-Drama that landed on Amazon Video in January of this year. The series is available in both English Sub and English Dub. All 16 episodes of Season 1 are available for streaming with an Amazon Prime membership. The question is: Is this a series you should stream or is this a series you should skip?
Not My Normal Cup Of Tea
In the interest of full transparency, I am not a K-Drama girlie. This is actually the very first K-Drama I’ve ever watched. I was pulled in by a promo video scrolling through TikTok and it made me decide to give this series a try. After watching it, I may have to start looking into other K-Dramas because I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to.
What Is Marry My Husband About?
Obviously, I’m not going to ruin the fun with spoilers, but here is the basic plot synopsis to give you some background. Marry My Husband is about a woman dying from stomach cancer. She learns her husband and best friend are having an affair while she’s suffering through terminal illness. Her husband and best friend end up killing her before the cancer does. The moment she dies, however, she wakes up a decade in the past. The series involves her getting a second chance to try to do things differently. Can she change her past?

Honestly, the name Marry My Husband was enough to spark my interest. Even my daughter commented on “how weird” the name of the show is. The idea of waking up a decade into your past and getting a chance to do things differently is an interesting plotline for a show. It definitely draws you in and continues to hold on to you for all 16 episodes. There was never a point in time where I found myself no longer interested in watching it.
Subtitles or English Dub Audio?
If you are going to watch the English Dub version, I highly recommend leaving the subtitles on. Yes, they are not going to match what the people are saying. But, there are a lot of little things you miss if you don’t have those subtitles on to see the original dialogue. For example, he refers to his dying wife as a “b*tch” in one scene. But, that gets lost in the English translation. So, you don’t really get to see just how deep of a monster he is. The English Dub version is a little cheesy at times. And, I am definitely not opposed to watching a subbed version of something. It, however, can be hard to do that during the day with kids. So, just keep that in mind when you decide whether to give this series a try.

The Music
The soundtrack for the entire series is beautiful. The music always manages to fit the theme of the scene so well. If you are someone who enjoys the soundtrack of a show as much of the content, you’ll adore this one. The music is top-tier.

Mommy Approves: 9/10
This mommy highly approves of Marry My Husband. If you are looking for something new and different to watch, give this a try. You won’t regret it as it tends to keep you on the edge of your seat. There was a moment for me somewhere between Episode 10 and Episode 11 when I worried the show was running out of storyline. I honestly didn’t know how they were going to stretch it for 16 episodes. But, the twists to the plotline were amazing. Despite the episodes being an hour long and having two children, I managed to binge all 16 episodes of this series in 3-4 days.
As I mentioned before – the first season of Marry My Husband is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video – which is available for anyone with an Amazon Prime membership. If you aren’t currently signed up for Prime – try it out risk free for 30 Days with their >free trial offer<
