Big news for fans looking forward to the anime adaptation of the manga called Kinoko Inu.
Per CrunchyRoll News, a new trailer has dropped for the anime adaptation. The trailer includes a new key visual. Furthermore, five new cast members have been confirmed as well. Those looking forward to the release of the series won’t have to wait long as Kinoko Inu is scheduled to broadcast toward the beginning of October 2024 in Japan.
What Is Kinoko Inu About?
The original manga of the series ran for 12 years from 2010 to 2022 as part of Shoten’s Monthy Comic Ryu magazine. Described as a “heartwarming comedy” that tells the story of a picture book writer named Hotaru Yuuyami. Hotaru is suffering from depression after his family dog, Hanako, passed away. Things get a little weird when Hotaru finds a strange mushroom pup growing in his garden.
Could this mushroom pup fill the void left behind by the death of Hanako?

The five new cast members and the characters they will be playing in the series include:
- Mako Komako voiced by Anna Nagase
- Itsuki Yara voiced by Takuma Terashima
- Plum voiced by Misaki Kuno
- Anzu Uehara voiced by Hinano
- Tsubasa Uehara voiced by Sayaka Senbongi
