Originally part of the Winter 2023/2024 Season, the workplace romance series titled Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! came out in January 2024. What Is The Series About?
Per We Got This Covered, Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! is a series many believe is one of the best BL romances on Crunchyroll. To be fair, there have been a lot of great BL additions to Crunchyroll’s streaming library recently including Given, Tadaima Okaeri (Welcome Home), Sasaki & Miyano, and Twilight Out Of Focus (which is currently airing new episodes every Thursday).
As the name suggests, the series follows the idea that once someone reaches the age of 30 without being intimate they gain magical powers. To be more specific, they can read the mind of a person simply by touching them.
The series follows an office worker named Adachi who discovers this power following his 30th birthday. Things get weird when he accidentally bumps into a male co-worker and discovers he has a massive crush on him. Working late one night, Adachi ends up spending the night with the co-worker where things continue to get weird as he continues to see his thoughts.
For many BL fans, one of the big appeals of this particular series is that it isn’t a slice-of-life high school romance. The series has older characters which many consider to be a refreshing change of pace.
Will There Be A Season 2?
To date, there hasn’t been any chatter of a Cherry Magic! Season 2. Given the Season 1 Finale, the chances of this series getting picked up for a second season are pretty low. Those who have watched Season 1 agree it wrapped up pretty nicely. While fans agree they would love to see the development of Adahi and Kurosawa’s romance, the story did come to a satisfying ending by the final episode of Season 1.
