Exciting and somewhat unexpected news for fans of The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic. As Mommy Needs Advice previously reported this isekai adventure anime was released in January of this year.
The ending of Season 1 was very open-ended and left a lot to be desired. With a lot of source material left to work with and the teasing of characters yet to be introduced in the anime, fans were hopeful this meant the studio was promising a second season.
All that in mind, it is extremely common for a series (even one that was fairly popular with source material left to work with) to never get picked up for a second season. Furthermore, it is a little uncommon for an anime to get picked up for a second season so soon after the first season concluded.
So, many were pleasantly surprised when news broke yesterday that a Season 2 of The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic was currently in the works. Has any other information about a new season been released just yet? Keep reading for the details of this exciting news.
What Is The Series About?
The series follows Ken Usato along with two of his peers Suzune Inukami and Kazuki Ryusen. Suzune and Kazuki get summoned to another world to be heroes and help fight in a war. Ken Usato is walking with them because he forgot his umbrella and accidentally gets teleported with them.
Because he is with them they also test him for a magic affinity and he ends up having an extremely rare healing magic affinity. Ultimately, this ends up making him just as valuable (if not more valuable) to the war than his friends.
Here’s the official synopsis from the series:
“A typically average high school student who is accidentally transported to another world. He has an affinity for healing magic, one of the rarest affinities; as such, Rose recruits him into the kingdom’s Rescue Team.”

The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2 Confirmed
Season 2 of The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic was confirmed during a panel at the Otakon 2024. Unfortunately, the news did not include any details on the cast or the release date. Fans are hopeful the voice cast will return for Season 2.
The series, however, is not opposed to using other voice actors. There is an episode in Season 1 where one of the main voice actors was out sick and they replaced him with a substitute. Unfortunately, the extreme difference in his voice was noticeable and off-putting to man.
Statement From The Author
Both the original author Kurokata and Ken Usato’s voice actor Shogo Sakata issued statements about the renewal.
Kurokata:
I am very excited to see Usato’s story animated once again and to see what happens with the new characters introduced in the second season. This opportunity for a second season is thanks to everyone who has supported the series and all the staff involved in ” The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic.” I will continue to give my best to meet everyone’s expectations.
Shogo Sakata:
I rushed over upon hearing the news about the production decision for Season 2 of ” The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic”! I’m Shogo Sakata, the voice of Usato!!! I am incredibly, incredibly, super happy!!!!! This is all thanks to everyone’s support…!!! Thank you so much!!!!! Usato’s journey of delivering letters is about to begin…! I’m so excited!!! Based on his statement, it is safe to assume Shogo Sakata is willing to return to voice Ken Usato for Season 2.

Both The Eng Dub and Eng Sub versions of The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic are available for streaming via Crunchyroll. Fans can only assume Season 2 will also be available via the same platform after it starts airing in Japan.
